Officers in Egypt have seized the Ever Given as authorities within the nation demand the ship’s house owners pay almost $1 billion (R15 billion) for blocking the Suez Canal for a number of days final month.
Egypt’s Suez Canal Authority (SCA) seized the ship on Tuesday, in accordance with Ahram On-line.
Egyptian authorities have sued the Ever Given’s proprietor, Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd., for $900 billion, saying the ship prompted injury to the canal and misplaced enterprise.
Ryu Murakoshi, a spokesman for the corporate, advised the Wall Road Journal that Shoei Kisen Kaisha Ltd is in “negotiations on compensation.”
